What will happen if Chimpanzees became extinct?

All animals hold the economic system together. Without say, fish, bigger animals like crocs and sharks would die because there would be nothing for them to eat. Also smaller animals like krill would over populate the water and kill every thing off (including each other).

In the wild, there would be vacuum left by their extinction. The plants that they normally eat would probably be far more plentiful. Ant and termite numbers would probably increase. The number of monkeys and small deer would increase (since that is their main meat source). African people who hunt them for bush meat would starve or have to find alternative sources of food. But the most important thing to consider is that humans would be loosing family. We share more DNA and anatomical and cognitive similarities with chimps and Bonobos than any other life form on earth. If they went extinct, it would be like someone went through and killed all of your cousins. This would be a bad thing since chimps are capable of intelligent thought and experience the same emotions as humans.
