Depends on a lot of factors. If you took just a single dose (and haven't been using it before), and that dose was an average dose (doses range from 0.5 to 2mg, assume 1mg is average), than it should be out of yoru system (urine test wise) in 3 days. However I would give it 4-5 days to err on the side of caution and also because metabolism for each person is different. Now if you take it consistently, then levels have built up in your system. It would take 7+ days to clear.

∙ 11y agoAlprazolam has an average half-life of 11.2 hours. The half-life is the time it takes for half of the medication to clear your system. Therefore, if you took a dose of 1mg at noon on Monday, there would be .5 mg in your system at 11:12 p.m. At 10:24 a.m. Tuesday, there would be .25 mg in your system, etc.

∙ 12y agoSimple answer: it doesn't. Very few or no drugs are directly detectable in the urine. Your body, primarily your liver, turn drugs into other chemicals called metabolites. Each drug has its own particular metabolite, and it this that is tested for in a urine sample.
Alprazolam has a longer half-life than most other drugs, so its metabolite may be detected for 3 weeks, more or less.
