It is clogged or you have a miss on the driver side bank of the engine which is causing raw fuel to be dumped into the converter where it is burning. If you find your engine is running fine and has no miss then the converter is clogged.
Driver side
I believe bank 1 sensor 1 is Passenger side before catalytic converter. sensor 2 is after catalytic converter. bank 2 sensor 1 is Driver side before catalytic converter. sensor 2 is after catalytic converter.
I believe there are ( 4 ) Bank 1 is the passenger side of the engine , sensor 1 is before the catalytic converter ( upstream ) and sensor 2 is after the catalytic converter ( downstream ) Bank 2 is the driver side of the engine , sensor 1 is before the catalytic converter ( upstream ) and sensor 2 is after the catalytic converter ( downstream ) The 2 sensors before the catalytic converter are used for air / fuel ratio for the engine The 2 sensors after the catalytic converter are called catalyst monitors
Bank 1 is the driver's side, bank 2 is the passenger side. Then you will have sensor 1 and sensor 2. Sensor 1 is before the catalytic converter (closest to the engine), and sensor 2 is after the catalytic converter. So Bank 1, Sensor 2 is: the driver's side , after the catalytic converter.
Driver side, after the catalytic converter.
It is in the exhaust pipe between the header and the catalytic converter. That is, it is downstream from the header, and upstream from the catalytic converter. The first O2 sensor is located under the hood on the driver's side. It is located in the exhaust pipe between the header and the catalytic converter. The second O2 sensor is located in the exhaust pipe between the catalytic converter and the muffler. The wire runs up through the floor board where the connector is located under the carpet under the driver's seat.
On a V6 or V8 engine, the passenger side cylinders are bank one, so the catalytic converter on the passenger side will be bank one. The driver's side is bank two.
Driver's side, after the catalytic converter.
On the catalytic converter, driver side, upper sensor.
There are typically 4. * Driver Side Cylinder Bank (front) * Passenger Side Cylinder Bank (rear) * Before 3rd Catalytic Converter * After 3rd Catalytic converter
After the catalytic converter driver side.
Change the driver side O2 sensor that is after (To the rear or back of) catalytic converter.
