If terminals of the battery are reversed, it will short the device that is using the battery.
On a car reversing the cables can blow fuses, melt wires, and fry computers.

It will not fit in the space provided or the posts may be reversed. As long as you connect the positive and negative terminals correctly it will function as any battery should. Just make sure you do not buy the wrong battery.
The battery might drain
Uses a Type 51 or 51R. The only difference between them is the plus and minus terminals are reversed. Only thing that means is you might have to install the battery backwards so the terminals on the batt align with the cables. The battery is symmetrical so you wont have any clearance issues.
One difference is the terminals (+ and -) are reversed. What I want to know is, what is the difference between 24N and 24F? They both have the same terminals, and I can't see any other difference externally.
The function of battery terminals is to connect a load or charger to a cell battery. Battery terminals are necessary and common in a lot of batteries.
Corroded battery terminals, defective battery, or starter.Corroded battery terminals, defective battery, or starter.
Most battery terminals are made of lead.
On any car, switching the battery hookups will most likely fry your battery.
on the battery
Unless the charger is clever enough to realize that something is wrong(some of them are) then the battery will be damaged.
More than likely you have corrosion at the terminals. Clean the battery terminals and then recharge the battery and see what happens.
