A person who doesn't give a clear answer may be:
- indecisive
- unsure
- socially polite - attempting to be polite when they don't really want to go but cannot say it
- ashamed - attempting to hide that they cannot say yes because their parents or family would not agree to let them go
- uncomfortable, feeling awkward - are socially withdrawn or don't feel comfortable in social situations
