The American Gun Company was a trade name for the HD Folsom Arms Company. Folsom was a distributor of double and single barrel shotguns produced by Crescent Firearms Co, Norwich, Ct. Folsom owned and later sold to Savage Arms Co. the Crescent Firearms Co., Davis Warner Co. and Baker Gun Co. around 1930.

There are five different American Gun Co. double barrel shotguns with values ranging from $100 to $400 for a No 1 to $350 to $800 for a No 5. The features of the gun (damascan barrels, hammer or hammerless) are more useful than the serial number for identifying it. All that is true. However, 28 ga. guns are hot right now. If it is in good shape, with shootable dimensions, you might get $1000 or more for it as a shooter.
