The brake pads might not be adjusted properly. The brake pads can be too tight and have contact with the rotors.

my 99 Cherokee has a header leak. i know that's a problem but im wondering if that's causing the sputtering. it will sputter on a good acceleration and after transmission kickdown. no backfireing, no hesitation. i replaced the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor and it didnt change the symptoms. if anyone can help it would be apreciated!
