check Transmission Fluid level first. one of the shift sensors needs replacing you need to read codes to find out what is problem
accelerator pump inside the carburator
if it runs fine until you push the gas pedal the accelerator pump may be bad if it has a carb on it.
Your 1983 Chevy S10 Blazer might stall when the accelerator pedal is depressed because of a clogged or dirty fuel filter. Gas that is mixed with water or condensation from the tank can also cause this issue.
Have your ball joints checked out.

Yes, a broken or disconnected accelerator cable is the likely cause for the accelerator pedal to quit working. The car will still run fine but will not be able to accelerate past idle.
