Start by checking the sump plug bolt located under your jeep at the lowest point of the engine it may be loose.
What about it? It was the most expensive model of Grand Cherokee ever produced until the special edition 1998 Cherokee "5.9 Limited" came out. The Orvis edition comes with a special appearance theme on thcre inside and outside of the vehicle. Green leather seating surfaces with tones of cream on the sides of the seats and red piping make up the special seat looks. The steering wheel is leather bound and the interior door panels are special, as are the "Orvis" emboidered floor mats. The choice of engines are the optional legendary 4.0-liter Inline-6 or the Orvis's standard and more powerful 5.2-liter V8. All Orvis edition Grand Cherokees came with the Up-Country suspension package which raises the ride height and gives a more sporting tune for better offroading. They come with Quadra-Trac I which is a full-time 4-wheel-drive system with a 4-LOW setting. Of all 1995-1997 Orvis edition Grand Cherokees made, the 1995 is the most popular year at over 10,000 being made that year, and in 1996 is was like 2300 and 1997 was like 2700 made.
Tail lights-- You have to unscrew the three bolts inside the hatch, pull the tail light toward you, then turn the bulb at the top. Third brake light-- You have to take (4) screws out of the plastic trim around the top of the hatch inside. Then remove the plastic trim and turn whichever bulb is burnt out and replace it.
I'm not sure if orvis edition makes any difference but I can tell you how to change the c/v on either side. First take the tire off. Second remove the two long bolts holding the brake caliper onto the hub. Third remove the three torx head bolts that are on the back side of the hub. Forth remove the large nut at the centre of the wheel hub. To do that you must first remove a cotter pin and spring and nut cover. At this point the c/v should pull right out there is no retainer clips inside the differential. To replace reverse this process but be careful not to break metal bands holding c/v boot on.
Answer thanks to About.com: "To program the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE ) transmitter access codes into the RKE receiver in the Passenger Door Module (PDM ) requires the use of the "Chrysler Diagnostic Readout Box" (DRB) scan tool. Chrysler DOES NOT provide a procedure for programming the RKE transmitter without the DRB scan tool for this make and model." In other words you need to either take it to a dealer to have them reprogrammed (call around to find one that will do it for free) or buy a DRB scan tool. -- Every dealer I've ever called about getting my 96 Orvis' remote programmed all wanted $50-$100. Locksmiths even gave me the same pricing :(
