does my 1996 pontiac ga stall out in park
the problem may be that the timing chain or belt has broken
One thing that would cause your 1999 Pontiac Montana to stall at idle is the idle being set too low. You should raise it to see if that fixes the problem.
crankshaft position censor
the steering wheel..
usually the factory alarm
bad fuel filter
Some things that can cause a car to stall while driving it include a bad fuel pump, running out of gas, and low fuel pressure. A clogged catalytic converter can also cause this to happen.
Its going bad.
A whistling noise indicates a vacuum leak.
Would this cause the car not to start If the EGR VALVE is bad
play in the drive train
Nothing to do with the "TRAC OFF" light, but my daughter has an 2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE, and her car did the same thing and what we found out was that the fuel pump, that was located in the gas tank, was bad. Bought another one and installed it and it works fine now.
A clogged Fuel Line
water temp sensor wire grounding out could cause this problem.
you might wanna chage the plugs and wires. what other symptoms does the car have. i am having the same problem in my 2003 pontiac grand prix gt
Typically, a bad or "going bad" alternator.
blown head gasket
your intake might be plugged. take out your air filter and see if it plugged. that's the first thing to look at.
bad eletrical system ground wire some where!
Idle speed too high.
Having the speedometer jump and the engine stall in the 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo could be a problem with the idle and the transmission. The transmission slipping can cause the speedometer to jump.
possibly on of the belt pulleys or a vaccum leak
