I posted this question, but have since figured out the problem. My car stalled out several more times, and finally tripped the computer. I brought it back into the dealership, and they were able to run the code. It was a faulty wire harness. Apparently Ford has been having trouble with them. They replaced it, and reprogramed my computer, and I'm good to go. No further problems.

You can tell if the transmission is bad on almost any car by looking for jerky acceleration when driving, especially when moving from low to higher speeds. If the car is jerky, or seems to be having trouble shifting, it is likely a problem with the transmission.
would an automatic transmission car jerk when shifting after having had a transmission flush
Feeling the gears slip while driving or having a difficult time getting the speed past 30mph no matter how hard you press the gas pedal.
Transmission slipping? Try having fluid and filter changed If that doesn't help may require a rebuild

Could be time for a transmission service by having the fluid and screen replaced. if that doesn't do it you may want to have a reputable transmission place inspect and or adjust the power bands based on your milage being high or not. Could be a torque converter problem. Worst case scenario is a malfunctioning or damaged transmission.
