You probably need your bearings repacked
loose or bad u joints.
It is common to have a knocking or clunking noise of a 99 Nissan Altima, even after the struts have been replaced. This may be due to worn ball joints. It is best to replace the ball joints, too.

Could be many things, ball joints usually make clunking noises (usually one when turning and one when turning the wheel from turning), cv joints usually make a clicking noise and vibrate under load. Have it checked out, les schwab will do it for free (check it).

A bad harmonic balancer can cause a knocking noise. The harmonic balancer doesn't actually produce the noise, but it can cause the noise in the engine.
mine doing the same when turning been to garage could be broke spring or strut top bearing .
Could be the CV joint is dry or has failed.
A clunking noise, when you put your car into gear, is most likely caused by a bad u-joint. A problem in the transmission can also cause the noise.
