P0141 is heated oxygen sensor circuit malfunction
you need to check the supply voltages to the sensor.
crank sensor is getting hot/ bad crank sensor
Water pump not pumping or a pluged radiater
This has happened on my 97 twice- it was the fuel pressure regulator.
twice a year
wheel bearing and sensor need replaced. another of GM's wonderful (notice the sarcasm) products. have had my car 4 years and have had to replace both twice.
a vacuum leak is possible. plugged cats. bad o2 sensor. etc.
Any time you have to reset the ECM, all you have to do is disconnect the negative battery cable for about 15 seconds--if you've replaced the sensor--I just had to do that twice--the first one apparently was bad so I had to buy another one and now that fault is gone.
I'm having the same problem! Just got a ticket for mine.
Have you replaced the fuel filter? Have you run a computer diagnostic test? The fuel filter was replaced last year in march. have not ran diagnostic test yet. someone said it may be the oxygen sensor due to the catlettic converter going out twice in one year. still do not know why it is dying at light and not wanting to shift. am replacing O2 sensor today.
These were covered under a Nissan factory recall. Call the dealer, let them know about the recall for the crack shaft sensor, and it should be a free replacement. I have a 2002 Altima and actually had to get mine replaced twice...both at the dealer...both free of charge due to the recall on the part.

I have a 98 Explorer XLT V8 and I've had a check engine light for over three years. I've had the misfire on Cyl 5 and 7. I've replaced the wires and plugs three times, the coils twice, and the engine computer three times. Finally, I've replaced injectors 5, 6, 7 and 8. I replaced the MAF sensor once, but before the injectors and the second set of wires and plugs. Now, I have only a misfire on Cyl 5. I unplugged the connector on the MAF, and it made a big difference. Smoother idle, faster throttle response and noticeably better gas mileage (for now). I'm thinking that after all of the parts replaced, the issues are now narrowed down to the MAF sensor, hopefully! I hope this info helps for you or others. There really is no quick fix.
