Stocking and glove neuropathy presents as the sensation of tightness, pins and needles, or tingling in the areas where an individual would wear a pair of gloves or stockings. Some patients suffer pain in addition to the stocking and glove sensation. The condition usually begins as loss of feeling and a tingling sensation and gradually worsens if left untreated.

You can cause this by just sitting on your legs/knees like you did when you were a little kid. Your feet will "fall asleep" and then begin to cause "pins and needles". Then, they will begin to tighten up, which can be very painful. If you were asking this to figure out to hurt someone else's feet, then stop reading this right now and go find a more productive and useful way to spend your time.If the question is asking what medical condition could cause symptoms of pain, pins and needles, and numbness in the feet, then the answer would include a rather long list. One of the more common causes in US Citizens is Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, which can damage the tiny blood vessels in the feet affecting circulation and sensation, as well as damaging nerves which will cause the familiar "foot went to sleep."Other disorders and diseases that slow circulation, or affect or damage the nerves, can create this symptom. The only way to know what is causing it in your case is to have an examination by your health care professional. If you delay diagnosis and treatment in some of the conditions that present these symptoms, you could be risking permanent nerve damage, if the cause is an injury to or pressure on a nerve. Similarly, if there is a disruption in your blood flow to the peripheral parts like your feet, it can cause permanent damage from the restricted blood circulation.
People with diabetes often have a burning sensation in their extremities especially their legs and feet.
