Hopefully it is the button and not the computer chip of the cruise control that sounds like it has "gone bad". First unplug the button and clean all contacts with contact cleaner. If this doesn't help purchase another button from a junk yard. Last resort have the dealer plug in the computer to find the problem.

Traction control is what keeps your wheels from spinning on ice dirt mud etc. On the end of the gear shifter is a button and it should say with an arrow "traction control". If functioning properly, when you push the button it will turn traction control back on.

If you have any question about the functionality of your GFCI, you should have it replaced. You can certainly verify that the GFCI is still functioning by using the test button, but the light gives added assurance that the circuit is functioning properly.

I don't know the answer but it might help if you specify Chrysler or Toyota transmission. If you have a 6 cyl 93 Grand Cherokee without an overdrive button on the dash then its a Toyota transmission If you have the button it's a Chrysler unit. Good luck.
