It can be caused by using an oil that is too light (low viscosity number) for the age of the engine, or it can be caused by sludge buildup on the oil pickup screen in the crankshaft, or a worn or damaged oil pump or a faulty oil pressure sender unit. If the engine is just plain worn out, and the oil pressure has dropped because rod and/or main bearings are excessively worn, the only choice is thicker oil (higher viscosity number) or a replacment or rebuilt engine.
cracked or broken wiring, blown fuse
What would make a 1899 oldsmobile cutlass ciera start and then die right away?
brake booster has probably gone bad.
Had the same problem with my 92 cutlass ciera. It turned out to be ac compressor. Probably the clutch.
Stuck brake light switch.
Cracked distributer cap or fuel pump
I have a 92 cutlass ciera doing that, would run til it got hot, then die...ended up being the crank shaft sensor. hope this helps
It is incorperated with the PRNDL switch on the trans.
you would use 5W-30W have the same car
The Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera a was front wheel drive model. It was sold by General Motors from 1982 to 1996.
would have 2 say a bad ground..U have the voltage, just not a ---- GOOD ground.
I can help you I had that problem on my 1988 cutlass ciera and the answer is that one of the lights on the back not the third small on is not working. Open the trunk take out the bulb itself and check the wiring. That what was wrong with mine someone didn't have it wired right. Hope this helps you out.
The best place to find the brake line schematic for a 1995 Cutlass is at a GM dealer. The repair facility would have all of the relevant manuals.
R12 unless it has been retrofitted. I would suggest have it changed, as the cost of R12 is prohibitive.
Run a breaker button from horn to car interior to battery
Low freon, bad compressor, bad clutch, bad pressure switch (could be multiple of these), bad switch...the list goes on. Best bet is to take it to a mechanic for a diagnosis.
Depends on where you live and who fixes it. Expect to pay at least $500 and up.
If a timing chain broke, the engine wouldn't run and a compression test would read "0".
Check the brake light switch, it's under the dashboard, connected to the brake pedal.
The "mass air flow" sensor would be located in the snorkel between the air filter box and the throttle body.
it will be either the o2 sensor or the idle air control module. i had the same problem in 2 different cieras and each one had this problem.
Timing chains are designed to last the life of the engine. If one was to break the engine would cease to run. A compression test would read "0".
It is possible that the fuel pump is going out I would check the fuel pressure to make sure it is up were iot should be,
First thing I would do if its leaking is to try to put some stop leak in it. And if that fails then you have to replace it. NOTE: Be careful when removing panels so you won
