bad spark plug wire.
If you've already replaced the spark plug wires, try removing the spark plug boot heat shield.
Remove the coil pack for each cylinder. On the bottom of the coulpack is a spark plug boot. Under the boot is the spark plug.
Shorted out spark plug wire. Boot that goes down into the top of the engine onto the spark plug sometimes gets brittle and cracks causing arcing to the head and/or valve cover
Engine power loss and oil in a spark plug boot is caused by one of two things, either a cracked valve covor gasket that is letting oil seep into the boot at the top........or even worse a blown head gasket, i would sugguest a compression test to determine the problem
Disconnect the battery, remove the engine cover, remove the spark plug cables and boot covers, and remove the old spark plugs. Put in the new spark plugs, attach the boot covers, and cables, replace the engine cover, and connect the battery.
Pop the hood open, remove the filter to the carburator, remove 1 spark plug wire boot at the front right side while facing the engine, remove the spark plug, add the new spark plug as well as the spark plug wire boot.
Water can get in and cause a misfire.Water can get in and cause a misfire.
Disconnect the battery, remove the engine cowl, remove the spark plugs cables, boots and plugs on the drivers side of the engine, replace with new spark plugs and attach the boot and cables. Do the same on the passenger side of the engine, replace the engine cowl, and connect the battery.
Give the spark plug boot a twist to free it from the spark plug then pull it off of the spark plug by the boot.
If you mean that the wire came out of the boot, then pull the boot off of the spark plug and use a spark plug socket to remove the spark plug.
they are located up the driver's side of the engine. You will see the spark plug wires, follow each one back to the engine block, and the thing under the wire boot is the spark plug.
Try starting the engine, pull the spark plug out and see if it is wet with gas, if it is you might not have any spark(possible from a fouled spark plug) or it might have low compression, put the plug into the spark plug boot and set the tip of the plug onto something that is metal on the engine and turn the engine over. you should see spark, no spark=ignition problem. If the plug is not wet the engine isn't getting any gas and you have a carburetor problem.
