play in the drive train
Check fuse for stop lightsStop lights and shift interlock are in a common circuitMove key to 1st position (unlock)Shift to neutral to start vehicle and then you should be able to shift to Drive
It's not the driveshaft. You have a bad transmission.
would the tierod cause the wheel to turn out
A change in price level would cause movement along the demand curve, but would not cause the curve itself to shift.
Adding or subtracting just one nucleotide would cause a frame shift mutation.
what would transmission not to shift in to overdrive
i have a 1994 Mitsubishi 3000 gt and when the temperature hand starts to go up the car dies what would cause this to happen

Parking brake applied or stuck on.Incorrect fluid level in trans. Transmission is bad.

Would anyone have a clue what would cause a 1997 Dodge Caravan not to shift out of 1st gear, able to drive...just wont shift email@example.com try changing the outputspeed sensor. I have a 2000 caravan with 193000 miles. It was doing same thing, change the sensor and now its work right. I thought I needed a new tranny.
Check to see if the stop lights are working. Shift interlock and stop lights are on the same circuit Try turning key to 1st (unlock) position then shift to Neutral to start vehicle and then shift to Drive
Check the fuses.
your problem could be a safety switch located close to the brake pedal. When you apply the brake you should here a small tick
heating element stopped working
Leaky transmission lines would cause the fluid level to drop and eventually cause the transmission not to shift and go.
If it is a delayed engagement issue, need to check the fluid level first. If the fluid is ok,- would need to take it to a transmission shop. If it is hard to shift into drive, the linkage/cable needs servicing/adjusting. If that is ok, more than likelythe transmission/trans. pump needs rebuilding/replacing.
Cable too slack.
bad cv joints check under the car and see if there is a rubber boot on the drive shaft connection to the wheel
Same as any engine. If your gear shift is moving as well it will possibly be your engine mounts. If its been happening when cornering check your drive shafts.
when driving, take note of the speedometer.....
There could be a number of reasons why your truck will not shift properly. There could be something wrong with your clutch or transmission.
