Pain and/or Numbness in Hands and Fingers These symptoms could be caused by several things, BUT there is no way to diagnose the cause based on just your question. One of the major causes with today's heavy use of computers is called "Carpal Tunnel Syndrome" which results from pinching and'or irritation of nerves in the wrist from excessive repetitive movement in the use of a computer keyboard. It was/is also a common ailment for typewriter users. There could, however, be other causes such as sports injuries, work repetitive activities, use of vibrating tools, stroke, or a brain tumor. Therefore, it is imperative that you seek the help of your personal doctor to begin the process of determining the actual cause. This is important in that if the cause is one of the "worse" items, the earlier diagnosed, the better the prognosis for healing.

we can differentiate this problem related to neuropathy. the numbness in the palm could be carpal tunnel syndrome , a nerve which gets sandwiched in between the carpal bones, similarly the nerve root irritation by the lumbar disc can cause the back trouble. further details log on to www.spectrumphysio.info

Either you dislocated your shoulder, broke it, or didnt hit your shoulder and hit your funny bone instead, which often does shoot sharp numbing pains throughout hand and fingers.

What could cause pain in my left hand in the last 3 fingers first numbness then pain at night?

Carpal tunnel syndrome can be caused by compression of the median nerve that runs through the wrist. Carpal tunnel symptoms are usually worse at night have numbness and tingling of the first 3 fingers. If you are having symptoms of the last 3 fingers then you may have a problem at your neck level with a disc causing a pinched nerve..usually around the C7 or C8 area (7th or 8th vertbrae). You need to be evaluated by a neurologist or orthopedist
