change the cabin filters
It appears your blower motor is not working correctly on your 1980 Cadillac Coupe Deville. The vents are for both AC and heat. You may also be losing vacuum pressure. If you cannot find the source, your mechanic can help you do so.
could be a leaking heater core ( Steam ) . Depends on WHAT KIND OF SMOKE. Is it steam or smoke. Smoke like something burning could be oil. electrical, etc
The blower resister is not supposed to be grounded. The smoke may be steam from a leaky heater core.
The heater core has failed.
Smoke could be coming from the vents of your car for a number of reasons. You may have an internal car fire.
The moveable "baffle" inside the dashboard is not redirecting the air flow as it should. It's operated either by vacuum or an electric motor, in either case, repair is going to require the removal of the dashboard.
Check for a plugged evaporator remove fan motor under hood and see if evaporator is plugged
I'm having the same problem with my GrandPrix, there's a website that may help you out a bit too, www.2carpros.com
ur electronic climate control (ecc) programmer is faulty need to change it and the vaccum harness to the upgraded one. by the way its on the passenger side under the dash.
actuator under center of dash is bad
Is it smoke or is it atomized freon leaking from the AC system? If it fogs the windshield and smells funny, you may have a leak in the AC/Heater system.
If that smoke is more like steam, you have a leaky heater core.
a person satnding in the way of the vents
Most of the time it is caused by a hole in the heater core, do you smell a sweet smell? The sweet smell would be the antifreeze.
you probably need a heater core.
The magma gushes out and then it flows every where. The volcano has vents that let air come out. When the vents open steam/ smoke comes out of those vents.
The selector mechanism needs repair or the doors inside the vent are jammed.
U find the cracked or disconnected Vaccume hose - probably near the carb or fuel injection on the intake manifold, but sometimes the vac modulator under the dash goes bad.OR a bad connection @ the Firewall.
Check the fan motor itself. It may be shorting enough to cause it to run hot. the smell may by from the motor itself.
Nope, that would be steam.
Smoke from the vents can indicate a problem with the brushes in the interior blower motor. It may also be a symptom of the vehicle being on fire in which case evacuation and retreat to a safe distance is advisable.
There should be some pressure. Check/replace Radiator cap. The cap will tell you what the pressure of the cap is before it opens and vents to the overflow. Be sure Thermostat is not in Backwards. spring side should be towards engine. Engine will over heat if it is in backwards.
sounds like you have a bad blower motor.. i just replaced one on my 02 deville for the same reason with the same symptoms
I assume you mean smoke and water are coming from the A/C vents. I suspect you are seeing steam and coolant. You probably have a heater core leaking.I assume you mean smoke and water are coming from the A/C vents. I suspect you are seeing steam and coolant. You probably have a heater core leaking.
