Check your fuses

if it is not your fuses i would say check your hazard switch, mine went bad on my Nissan and caused that problem

Possibly a defective Turn Signal Relay. Your four way flasher switch is probably bad. Your four ways will still work but not your blinkers.

Check two things: 1) the fuse for your flashers/blinkers and 2) that the bulbs are good still.

A PCV or connecting hose problem can cause great issues with a 1997 Nissan pickup idling. In fact, this can keep it from running, even if it does start, and the engine turns over.

Richey cintorino Check the fusable link, that caused all my guages to go off on my 1987 pickup.

If you have the four way flashers on and the flasher is not working this will cause all four lights to come on. If you are sure the four ways are off then the problem is in the signal light switch in the steering column.

I am trying to install an after market stereo into a 97 Nissan Pickup. I do not know what the wires from the 97 Nissan Pickup do, however, I do know what the wires on the stereo that is to be installed are (i.e. ground = black, yellow = battery). I do not know which wire to attach in aftermarket stereo's wires to in order to make it work and not cause damage to the stereo or the truck.Thank you for your time and consideration. This has been driving me crazy!Cheers-

It can, if you leave the lights or flashers on too long.

This usually means one of the bulbs has burnt out.

User Avatar

Not sure what Kind of car this is, but usually if the blinkers run fast it's because you have a bulb burnt out. I'd check your tailights first.

if u have acarb. ,it should hook up to it,check your PVC valve and the line connected to it ,it may be clogged.

There is a problem with your charging system. More than likely the alternator has failed. Most auto parts stores will check your system for free.

There could be numerous problems that may cause this fault. Personally, my blinkers started going out (working sometimes and sometimes not) and what I found out is this...The flasher switch that is located in the dashboard above the radio is faulty. When my blinkers do not work i just tap down on the flasher switch without turning it on and my blinkers work again. Shotty electrical work in this car if ya ask me.

Check all of your blinker lights. There are two in each tail light, one in each center signal, and one at the corner of each headlight, a total of 8 lights should blink when you have the flashers on. If a bulb is burnt out, it will increase the blink rate. Also, installing LED's in the tail lights will cause the blink rate to increase.

Replace fuel filter and check the 02 sensor if the check engine light is on it's probably the 02 sensor run a diagnostic test to be sure
