Did it fix your problem when you replaced the fuse? Or did the fuse blow agian. If the fuse blew right away it is a common problem to have a penny or a coin down in the bottom of your lighter and this will cause the fuse to blow. If you have repaired the fuse blowing problem and your instrument cluster is still acting up it is also common to have and instrument cluster failure or could maybe be a ground problem It sounds like it may be the Body control Module (BCM). I think BCM's need to be programmed, so check with a dealer or parts store for more info on that. Good luck.

No, you cannot take a cigarette lighter on an airplane at all. They are prohibited in checked luggage, in carry-on luggage, and on your person.

not in carry on baggage, but you can in checked baggage

The thermostat for a 1997 Chevrolet Montecarlo is in the center beneath the radio. Other dials that are near are the defrosters and fanspeed. The cigarette lighter is beneath.

Have you checked your fuse panel underneath your dash on drivers side?

User Avatar

You can send it back to Colibri and have it repaired for $7.50. You might be better off looking at a new Xikar ...

all wires run to the fuse box. if you have already checked the fuse you need a new lighter. i too had to replace mine recently. LIke already said trace wires to the fuse box or take the wire out and replace that might be the problem also. it may not wven be the lighter i have checked the fuse and it is good i am not able to use anything on it like phone charger.

User Avatar

u cannot put it in your carry on. you may have it stowed below the plane though.

the same as any other burns, burn cream, or Aloe works well... if you mean burns on the upholstery you will need to have it repaired by a professional

The line fuse for the cigarette lighter Vauxhall Zafira is usually located between center electrode and the shell of the lighter jack.

User Avatar

If you have checked the main fuse panel and did not locate it (could be linked in with an accessory fuse) the other place to look is behind the actual lighter casing itself, the silver "socket" that the lighter fits into can be pulled out and it will be attached to a wire with a fuse inline. Good Luck!

There is a thermal fuse that connects to the lighter holder--must remove covers in shift area to access itThis assumes you have already checked the fuses under the hood which supply the power via the cig lighter relay. The same relay supplys your stero so if your stero work you likely have voltage there --also so if you cig lighter light and lighter ring are lit.

The cigarette lighter might not be any good. I checked my fuse in mine and it was good and i took the old cigarette lighter out and replaced it and it worked fine. They are like $3-$4 at Wal-Mart.

If you mean can it be patched, of course it can but the fabric is weaker than it would be if it had not been bleached. If you mean - can it color be restored - not really. You can dye the fabric, but it will always have lighter spots.

If the lighter is damaged not through abuse, it can be sent back to Zippo to be repaired free of charge. You do have to pay shipping charges. OR it depends on how its broke. you can replace the flint which is sold in most wallmarts or gas stations or you can replace the wick which you can usally find at the places i listed above.

User Avatar

it is probably a fuse and it is labled cigar in a separate fuse panel directly above the fuse panel in the lower left side of the dash. if that is not it the dash panel around the radio has to be removed and the wiring checked at the lighter.

There is another fuse box (all minifuses) located under the dash on the drivers side, there is a 20 amp fuse that works both the radio and lighter there

Slide the lighter body out of the lighter case, by pulling on the wick cage. With the lighter body upside down squirt lighter fluid into the fiber packing in the lighter until saturated. Reassemble the lighter body into the lighter case. Let excess lighter fluid evaporate before using the lighter.

Oil changed to a lighter weight antifreeze checked, tires checked, battery tested, make sure you have emergency kit in trunk. Just in case. Routine maintence for weather change. I am sure I'm forgetting something. Mechanic should help you.

not 100% sure that this is the same as 96 model but found out on mine there isn't such a convectional definition. basically pluged a ceramic heater 200w into my cigarette lighter which worked for few seconds and then stopped. checked all the fusses and all of them were ok. managed to pull out the cigarette lighter with the plug and checked the connector. with the ignition on tested the connector and noticede there was power at the connector but on the body of the plug there was a transistor that would have acted as the fuse and looked that it hade taken the strain!I am going to take it to a electronical shop to have it replaced. i belive the cigarette lighter not to be used for accesories that require "fuses" more than 15A. heater i used needed 17A or higher!.Answernot 100% sure that this is the same as 96 model but found out on mine there isn't such a convectional definition. basically pluged a ceramic heater 200w into my cigarette lighter which worked for few seconds and then stopped. checked all the fusses and all of them were ok. managed to pull out the cigarette lighter with the plug and checked the connector. with the ignition on tested the connector and noticede there was power at the connector but on the body of the plug there was a transistor that would have acted as the fuse and looked that it hade taken the strain!I am going to take it to a electronical shop to have it replaced. i belive the cigarette lighter not to be used for accesories that require "fuses" more than 15A. heater i used needed 17A or higher!.

Not on an airplane. Buy a cheapie, toss it in the trash on the way in, and get another at your destination. Be aware that lighters stowed in checked baggage may leak fluid, if they are that type.

User Avatar

Well, what I would do is ask the person or company that I got the car from - but the cigarette lighter fuse would probably be somewhere under the dashboard.

A lighter, as in a cigarette lighter?
