First thing to do is check to see if the coolant reservoir is leaking or if the bottom hose that is attached to the reservoir has a leak somewhere in the hose assembly. Why I'm saying this is because when the coolant level runs low the heating system won't produce heat because it's sucking air. I found this out this week because I done had my reservoir replaced about a year ago because it was leaking. Secondly, I'm having to take it to Kia again this week because a cheap plastic coupling that is attached to the hose assembly is leaking now and I'm not getting heat because of the leak running my coolant level low. The good news is that it can be fixed. The bad news is because of the cheap parts that they put on, it will cost aroud $270 to replace the hose assembly that comes off of the reservoir if KIA fixes it because the intake will have to come off to get to the clamp at the back of the engine. Sorry for your mishap also,
It can be replaced your self if you have the patience time about 30 to 45 min. You do not have to remove the intake. Although it does give more room. Save your self alot of money and time because we all know the dealers charge more than needed and take more time than needed. Savings around 200 to 250 dollars. Also if your not mechanicly inclined you never will be until you try think of a car as big puzzle you put it back the way you took it apart. thank you and good luck.
