A repelling force must occur between two charged objects under which conditions?

repelling forces occur with charged objects when the polarities of the objects are charged the same, which means that a positively charged object would repel another positively charged object and a negatively charged object would repel a negatively charged object.

If one body is positively charged and another body is negatively charged what do free electrons tend to do?

Free electrons tend to move away from the negatively-charged body and toward the positively-charged body. They will transfer to the positively charged body in an attempt to create a neutral charge.Move from the negatively charged body to the positively charged body.move from the negatively charged body to the positively charged body!-----------I just finished the Penn Foster test, and the answers for a 100 are (from left to right):A D CA C BD B CC D DD C CA B DC A BD A C Byou actually had two of the answers mixed up but i fixed them--after i got them wrong on my test. so now its 100%

What would you use to see if somthing is charged?

an electroscope is used to determine whether an object is charged or not. However, it will not tell if the object is positively or negatively charged.

Why a balloon now negatively charged?

When you rub a balloon onto your hair or piece of clothing, the balloon collects the electrons (negative charge) from the hair or clothing you rubbed it on. The balloon now has more electrons (negative charge) than protons (positive charge) making it have a negative charge. The hair or clothing has more protons than electrons making it have a positive charge.

When an acetate strip is charged by a rubbing does it acquire a positive charge or a negative charge?

A charged acetate strip would be negatively charged. So, it would acquire positive charge to become neutral.

If some amount of positive charge is given to a soap bubble what will happen to it?

It will be attracted to any negatively charged objects and repelled by any positively charged objects. It will probably be mildly attracted by neutral objects but this would be a much smaller effect.

What would happen if a negatively charged balloon touched metal?

Opposite charges attract each other. It makes no difference what kind of objects happen to be carrying the charges.

What would happen is a positively charged sodium ion and a negatively charged chlorine ion came into contact?

they will loose electrons

What would happen if a positively charged sodium ion and a negatively charged chlorine ion came in contact?

they would bond together forming salt

What would happen if a positively charged sodium ion and a negatively charged ion came into contact?

The ionic compound sodium chloride is formed.

What would happen if a positively charged sodium ion and a negatively charged chlorine ion came into contact?

The ionic compound sodium chloride is formed.

What would happen if a positively charged sodium ion and negatively charged chlorine ion came into contact?

The ionic compound sodium chloride is formed.

What would happen if carbon had 7 electrons?

Then it would not be an atom, but a non-existing Carbon anion (-1, negatively charged)

What type of electrons will a negatively charged atom have?

All electrons are the same. A negatively charged atom would be an anion.

Are bonding pairs positively charged or negatively charged?

The term "bonding pairs" usually refers to electrons, so they would be negatively charged.

What would happen when caesium chloride is added with water?

It dissolves and therefore appears colourless because the positively charged ions, (Cs+) will be attracted to the negatively charged oxygen atoms in water, and the negatively charged ions (Cl-) will be attracted to the slightly positive hydrogen atoms in water.
