The cytoplasm pushes against the cell wall and the cell becomes turgid. A plant cell in a concentrated solution (lower water potential than the cell contents) Water leaves the cell by osmosis. The cytoplasm pulls away from the cell wall (plasmolysis) and the cell becomes flaccid and the plant wilts.

Cytosol is the soluble portion of the cytoplasm. The Cytosol needs to be carried out to the daugher cell in order to survive. If the Cytosplasm did not function properly, this would lead to growth problems of an living organism such as an dog. Which will eventually die.

And yes even tho I'm 13yrs of age, I'm fairly sure that if the 'CHLOROPLAST' tends to become dysfunctional it would include the granum to stop functioning which of course is going to end up in the chloroplasts failure and most possibly the cells death. Don't trust me though, not sure if I'm right, this is just a guess.

Cytoplasm is the liquid wich is in cells I do not understand what u mean with it stopping. Unless u mean it stopping with being in cells then cells would just die and fall apart.

I have a feeling that the person means chloroplast as in, what if the thylakoids, collectively the granum becomes dysfunctional and this is actually what I'm looking for because I'm just 13 yrs of age and have no idea which website to trust

What is a synonym for cytosol?

Cytosol is cytosol, as mitochondria are mitochondria. It would be confusing in Science if there were synonyms and so Scientists try to use universal names for things. Cytosol is part of the cytoplasm, but this cannot be used as a synonym as cytoplasm contains all cell organelles as well as cytosol.
