If we don't have enough electrical energy or power, to supply the loads on the system, the first thing to happen is the system frequency drops, and this should cause operating plants to increase their output. However if there is nothing in reserve, the grid controllers have no option but to shutdown some part of it, possibly by asking a large industrial consumer to reduce their load, or else by isolating a sub-station, which would mean a whole area would lose power. But I doubt if they would do the latter unless the whole grid system was in danger of multiple failures due to overloading. WE also have sex
