This operation varies in cost depending on the exact issue. I was quoted $7-10,000 for my Golden.

It is also the very last treatment in the line of managing hip dysplasia! We didn't proceed with this treatment as results are not guaranteed. We now have him on a strict diet, to keep his weight down, and have him on a natural canine health supplement to aid the dysplasia. He is doing very well with this option, so we are very happy.

All the best.

The prices differ depending on your vets price, or the price of the equipment for the new hip. Ask around or ask your animal doctor how much it would be. Or if you have a money situation ask your Animal Doctor if there are any other cheaper options.

You just found out your two thousand dollar pure breed poodle has hip dysplasia and she is only one year should you sue?

Sue whom? Hip Dysplasia is especially common in large dogs, even more so for pedigrees. Moreover, genetic hip dysplasia tends to show symptoms when the dog is around 18 months old. If symptoms are showing earlier, then I am sorry to say, the environment it is kept in may be to blame. If the dog was over-exerted while the joints were maturing (such as under 1 year in age) then this could be the cause.

How expensive is it if your dog has her hip dislocated?

This will depend upon where you have the surgery done at, the size and health status of the dog, and the reason for the hip replacement. The low estimate, including the implant, would be US$3500, although the cost could be significantly higher depending upon your dog's medical status.

At least two years old and not until it has received a certification either in competition or by performing a recognized job applicable to it's breed, health clearances showing it to be free of hereditary issues such as hip and elbow dysplasia, inherited eye diseases like cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy, inherited cardiac issues, and thyroid-auto immune problems.

How old can chocolate labs live?

Being a large dog, labs have a limited lifespan. This is true for most labs. They live about 12 years, but not much longer than 14. The smaller the dog you get, usually the longer the lifespan. A lot of labs do not live as long as they can because they get hip dysplasia. It is a condition in their bones that makes them unable to or have trouble walking, sitting, going potty. So most people have to put them down.
