Bad heater core.
no.....the heater would have to be leaking
Heater CORE, not coil. The core is plugged and needs back flushing or replacement.
It mite not be a fuse have you checked the vacume hoses that come from intake manifold this can cause the fan not to blow.
I believe the dash has to come out any short cuts would be to cut stuff open not too pretty
The possible explanation for the smell may be that the heater core in the vehicle has a slight leak, therefore the smell of evaporating antifreeze will come through the vents until it is all dried up. Solution is to take the car to a garage and get the heater core replaced.
It is an option that most do not have. If equipped, the cord will be tied up under the hood.
The smoke you see may be moisture/steam. The heater core is probably leaking engine coolant. If the "smoke" has a sweet smell to it, it's engine coolant. More info about the vehicle such as model and year would help.
If you have the auto temp syste, the blower resistor block has failed.
Start the vehicle, set fan speed, set temp to hot, and select where you want the air to come out.
AnswerCheck your heater core, do you smell antifreeze at all?no
in the heater box behind the dash on the passenger side (right side) the dash has to come out and the ac must be evacuated to remove this heater core if you have never done it it is not a quick job i have done many of these and it takes several hours be sure the heater core must be removed to fix your problem befor starting
the jeep grand cherokee, jeep patriot, jeep commander
You have a bad blower resister..............
Normal it means your leaking antifreeze from somewhere. Check your levels and look on the ground, some times the vent system can pull in the smell. Check the hoses. Also it can be a leak in the heater core. If so it can be exspensive to replace, mostly because the whole dash normally needs to come out to get to it.
Check the Heater Core? Did it smell like oil or antifreeze. My Heater Core went, started blowing out smoke from the vent. Most Likely the Problem. "smoke" poured into my 1991 when the ac blew out all the freon and froze up the outside temp gage.
Is it a fish smell or a rotten egg smell ? FISH SMELL COULD BE A BAD HEATER CORE, THIS WOULD CAUSE YOU NOT TO HAVE HEAT IN THE CAR , BUT IT MIGHT NOT CAUSE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON UNLESS MAYBE CAR IS LOW ON COOLANT. ( THERE MIGHT BE A LOW COOLANT SENSOR TO TRIGGER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT) ROTTEN EGG SMELL COULD BE A CLOGGED CATALYTIC CONVERTER , WHICH WOULD CAUSE THE OXYGEN SENSOR TO TRIGGER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, BUT IT WOULDN'T CAUSE THE LOSS OF HEAT.
Why would you want it to come on. Its not on because theres nothing wrong with your engine.
the heater core is behind the dash, most of the dash needs to come out and i would get a Chilton or Haynes book.
SOUNDS LIKE THE INTAKE GASKET BLEW, OR THE HEATER CORE FAILED.. EITHER WAY, THIS IS A COSTLY REPAIR.
It is probably your thermostat. That will make cold air come in. It's probably stuck open. The part is only about $4.00 at Auto zone.
why would blue stuff come out mouth when pill overdosed
yes roses do have petal s otherwise where would the smell come from
Dogs can smell 1000x or more than humans can, if we come in the house and smell lasagna, a dog would smell the noodles, sauce, spices, and meats seperately whereas we smell it all as one piece.
Check that there isn't water around the water heater first, which would mean that turning it off and closing the water valve would be a good idea. Then, check the fuse box to see if the power has tripped--that is if it is an electric water heater.
