Hi, I have an elevated left diaphragm, and I have found that the phrenic nerve (if paralyzed) will cause the diaphragm to be elevated and not work.

If it is the stomach you would probably have other symptoms associated with the pain that you would recognize. If it is the diaphragm it may hurt more when you inhale or exhale deeply and would not matter if you are standing or sitting.
