∙ 15y agoIt was in 1954 that the Supreme Court of the United States handed down its order for desegregation. President Dwight David Eisenhower sent the U.S. Army out in 1957 to assist U.S. Marshals in enforcing the order. It took a bit of time for the full effect of the order to be felt throughout the south. A link can be found below.
