This happened for high/low beam switch in the late 1970s though the early 1980s as the new cars were designed.
What year ? 1993
How do I remove the headlight unit on a V6 TDI Passat year 2000?
In order to answer your question I will need the year of the car. 97
It depends completely on what year it is. If it is a composite style headlight (newer years), then the bulb should remove from the back of the assembly, while the assembly is left in the car. If it is an older year model, then the assembly is held in with two screws that can be reached from the front of the head light.
Make, model and year would help.
See "Related Questions" below for the 3 primary sets of instructions by model year groupings.
You didn't say what year so here goes. On older models you need to remove the plastc grill piece to access it. On newer models there is a L shaped pin on the top of the headlight that when pulled up releases the headlight assembly.
Depends on the year, but on mine there are 2 large bolts above each headlight housing on the top sill of the front of the car where the hood closes over them. They look like they would hold the sill to the car, but they hold a large metal headlight assembly. Remove the 2 bolts, the housing will slide forward and then you can remove the bulbs.
I'm not sure what year the jeep is but if it's a 99-04 Grand Cherokee there's a long bolt that you need to remove at the top that will enable you to pull the headlight out once it's removed. I've included a video to show how this is done.
depending on year of the car, but generally, you remove the headlight cover (its a rubber cover on the rear of the headlight assembly). you will find the headlight's main/dipped headlight wiring. below this you will find the side light bulb wiring. this follows to a push-in type connector which holds the bulb twist and pull the connector and this should pull out from the holder. here you can next pull out the sidelight bulb. hope this helps.
Go to Autozone, tell them the car year, make, model etc. They will give you the right number for the headlight; even if you don't buy them there.
be more specific. what year is it? on my bike the headlight assembly sits in 2 grommets that are part of the bracket and also bolting to the gauge cluster assembly. 1 grommet on the left the other on the right. than, in each top left and right corner of the headlight shoud be Phillips or 7mm metric screws. they bolt into the upper fairing, holding the light flush.
