Grand Theft Auto 2 took place in a "near future". When the game was released in 1999 nobody knew exactly what year it was but a few years ago Rockstar Games uploaded on their website fictionnal newspaper articles from the game dated : July 2013. And those who knows GTA very well knows that Claude Speed makes an apparition in GTA San Andreas wich took place in 1992. This means that if Claude would be 25 years old in GTA SA, he would then be 34 in GTA 3 and 46 in GTA 2. Hope I helped you!
