They should have changed the body style in the last two years. The present body is getting old. They've had it since 2005. I will be buying one when the new style comes out.
1997 was the first year for that body style 1996 was the last year of the first generation Dakota.
The last big change was 1994, when the body line went from the AD code to BR. In 2002 it went to the DR code.
No, the body styles are different. The last year of the TJ body style was 2006. The 2008 is a JK body style.
My 2002 Chevy Tahoe 5.3 engine has 187,000 miles and is purring like a kitten! Still have the original trans in it and have never done any major engine work to it. I run Mobil 1 synthetic oil in my engine and change the oil every 5,000. I love my Tahoe and plan on keeping it for many many more years. I am curious how many miles you have on your Tahoe. Good luck. My Tahoe has 250000miles on it and its still running strong. Wonder how long it will last also.
I believe 1999; in 2000 they switched over to the "newer" body style where they offered the barn doors and lift gate style.
It is not necessary to change the timing chain. It should last way over 100,000 miles. Timing belt should be change at least at 90,000 miles or earlier as listed in your owner's manual.
2 years till it rusts out
Modern jazz was the last style to develop.
First of all, It has a timing chain not a timing belt. No need to change the timing chain and gears. They will last the life of the engine.
