Your shotgun was made for Montgomery Wards (marked with their brand- Westernfield) by Mossberg, and is their model 550. As far as age- no way to tell. IF your shotgun does not have a serial number, it would have been made prior to 1968.

Note to previous poster- Sears did not use the Westernfield brand- that belonged to Montgomery Wards. They DID use J.C. Higgins and Ted Williams as brand names.

Mossberg!AnswerSeveral different companies made 12 gauge pumps for Western Field. You must provide the model number, which should be stamped on the barrel or receiver of the shotgun. G072293
I would look to mossberg gun corp.first, they are the company that made your shotgun.the model is mossberg model 500.
It all depends what model you have. For instance I have a M550AD it is worth about $600. Age also afeects the value. Your best bet is to take it to a gun shop. Mark The Wards Western Field .410 bolt action shotgun's model # is: 15a. It was bought by my Dad in about 1935-1936. This should be a Mossberg 500 in a Montgomery Wards suit. Check any dealer for the availability of a slug barrel.
They're both Mossberg 500's and there are several pages of these in the Blue Book. Most likely one marked with a Montgomery Ward name is going to be a field grade worth $100 for well-used but servicable gun up to $200 or so for one in 98% original condition.
Your western field model 550AD was made by mossberg for montgomery wards. These shotguns were the same model number for mossberg ,as for montgomery wards.
