I can say that your rifle was made at the end of production. The Browning trombone model rifle were only made in the total amount of 150,000 grade 1 rifles. If you contact Browning directly through the customer service dept, they should be able to date your rifle.I suspect that it was made sometime in the 1960,s.

Contact Browning Customer Service through their website. Some records of pre WW 2 guns were lost during the war.

No browning did not,but winchester made a ranger model pump action shotgun.

Browning never made a pump action rifle. Please check the manufacturing name on your rifle again.

John Browning invented the pump shotgun in the year 1897.

Not a Browning. Made for Sears by Savage/Stevens in the 1930's. sales@countrygunsmith.net

The 2 letters NX in the middle of your Browning Invector pump action shotgun indicates that it was made in the year 1993.

Hello I also have a 1928 Browning 22 Trombone. Based on the serial number given, your gun dates prior to 1956 because it has no prefix or date code. Therfore based on total product of about 150000 units over 53 years your rifle should be a late 1940's model. I would say some ware around 1948 - 1949. Hope this helps. Mark

Browning did not manufacture the gun. The gun was made by Stevens, using a Browning patent. Value is minimal, below $200.

Need a detailed description of all markings.

Ranger on Browning Patent This was sold by Sears , but made by Stevens between 1912 and 1942. It was not made by Browning. Typically they are valued between $100-$250 depending on condition.

You will have to call Browning with the sn to find out.

They were made in the 1930s and there is no serial list by year. These are NOT Brownings but were made for the SEARS store by various makers, but not the Browning Arms Co. It was built on Brownings patent and made by Stevens.

Browning didnt make a pump with that serial number. You may have a shotgun by another brand that says "Browning's Patent", please provide more information.

Winchester and Browning

I would like to start first with the serial number. The letters MR in the middle of the serial number indicates that your browning shotgun was made in 2007.With that said,if you have a pump shotgun then you have a browning BPS.If you have a over/under shotgun then you have a browning citori. If you have a semi-auto shotgun then you have a browning gold model.

800-333-3288.is the phone number for Browning Customer Service. Your serial number does not track with current production rifles.

Chances are your shotgun was made by savage/stevens for the montgomery wards company.
