The New Testament Lists them

"And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, various kinds of tongues." First Corinthians 12 :28

As a Baptist the list for todays church would be as follows:

1. Apostles (so what they tell us is the standard for everything)

2. Prophets (the supernatural gifts are gone)

3. Pastors/Elders/Overseers (All mean the same thing and churches have more than one Pastor since Paul always addresses "To the elders..." never "To the elder..." John the apostle called himself The Elder but he also was old when he called himself that and you have to admit, he was "up there" no pun intended.

4. Deacons (they assist the pastors, especially with material needs of the church members)

The rest are not offices abilities people had or have from God.

5. Teaching, administrating, helping, healing (as a cessationist I believe the miraculous has stopped but I can't completely disbelieve that personally based on possible experiences of friends I trust)

So, today, we only have 2 offices: Pastors and Deacons. No music ministers, no youth ministers, no senior ministers, no assistant ministers, no puppet ministry ministers, no media ministers, no worship ministers, no assistant senior youth minsters of puppet media worship. Just two, if you want to stay within the limits of the apostles' teaching to the churches regarding hierarchy.

No in a Christian church there is no hierarchy. The Bible says we are all members of the one body and no part is more important than the other.

Read 1Corinthians 12:12 - 25

But in "Christian" religion people have developed a hierarchy, priests, bishops, archbishops etc

There are as many hierarchies as there are 'Christian' churches/organizations. Most all of these are merely humanly devised patterns of government. Consider the largest group - the Catholic Church's hierarchy starts with the Pope as supreme authority, then his college of Cardinals, then in headquarters at Rome is a 'curia' with Archbishops, Bishops and Priests. The Presbyterian Church is organized with the presbyters or ministers in control while the Congregational church delegates top authority to a congregation or government by the consent of the govern. And on it goes...

Biblically, Church government has the Father as the Head over Christ - the sole Lawgiver and supreme authority. The rest of the government is explained in 1 Corinthians 12 with the important note being there is ONE church which is not divided. There is no 'parent' church with many 'apostate daughter' churches splitting off in disagreement. The ONE Church is to marry Christ at His 2nd Coming and the resurrection of the saints with those living.

Episcopalian has some church hierarchy (bishops, etc.). I don't think that Baptists have a church hierarchy. There is a Baptist hierarchy within the church consisting of the Pastor and selected Deacons; however, if you are refering to a hierarchy within the denomination, then no, there is not a Baptist hierarchy.
