When and where does act one scene two take place in romeo and Juliet?
It takes place in a street in Verona, shortly after the events in Act 1, sometime on a Sunday afternoon.
During the fifth scene of "Romeo and Juliet," Romeo and Juliet meet for the first time at Capulet's party. They flirt with one another. Romeo playfully pretends that Juliet is a saint that Romeo must kiss in order to absolve his sins. Juliet, amused by Romeo's speech, agrees and they share their first kiss. Afterwards, Juliet claims that Romeo's sin is now on her lips, so Romeo kisses her again to take his "sin" back.
Romeo and Juliet is a play, not a historical document. It starts every time someone steps out on the stage and says "Two households, both alike in dignity." However, Romeo and Juliet is one of the few Shakespeare plays where you can figure out the day of the week on which the events take place. Act 1 scene 1 takes place on a Sunday afternoon.
All of the action from Act 2 Scene 2 until Act 3 Scene 5 seem to take place on the same day. That is, Romeo and Juliet spend all night talking until daybreak (2,2), Romeo meets with the friar (2,3), the Nurse comes to meet with Romeo (2,4), the Nurse redelivers his message to Juliet (2,5), Romeo and Juliet are married (2,6), Romeo kills Tybalt and is banished (3,1) and escapes to the friar's cell…
But she does, just not onstage. The nurse would not be able to take her message to Romeo in Act II Scene 4, nor have any reason to warn Romeo not to lead Juliet into a "fool's paradise" or "deal double" with her if she didn't know how Juliet cared for Romeo. Nor would she tease Juliet in Scene 5 by withholding Romeo's plan to marry her if she didn't know how desperately Juliet was…
There are at least three sonnets in Romeo and Juliet. The prologue to Act One is a sonnet, as is the prologue to Act Two. Romeo and Juliet also create a unique two person sonnet in Act One, Scene Five starting where Romeo says "If I profane with my unworthiest hand" (Romeo 1.5.91) and ending with "Then move not while my prayer's effect I take" (Romeo 1.5.104).
There are multiple murders that take place in romeo and Juliet. Marcutio* is killed by Tybalt, Julia's cousin. Then since Tybalt killed Marcutio, Romeo killed Tybalt. When Romeo is sent out of Verona since he kills Tybalt, Juliet fakes a death so that she can escape to be with Romeo. When Romeo sees Juliet die, he doesnt realize it is fake and poisons himself.
