When can you change a lip ring?
Stepping a lip ring down can generally be done two weeks after the piercing has been done, by then the swelling should have eased and a smaller ring can be put in place. If you still have swelling it would be wise to wait another week just to be safe.
Lip rings range in size from 20 gauge (the smallest) to 14 gauge (the largest). Sixteen-gauge is considered a "normal" size lip ring. The piercer will usually start with a lip ring that is slightly larger to accommodate the swelling that will naturally occur as a result of the piercing process. Once healing has occurred, the wearer can change the size of the lip ring to either a smaller or larger one.
The sybolism of a lip ring depends on the culture or ethnicity that a person got the ring. the lip ring can mean anything from a persons social class to a persons style sense. a lips ring imparticular is always saying something no matter what culture. Try looking a a specific culture then looking for the symbolism of the lip ring.
It is better to start off with a normal piercing (just like spikes), since your lip will firstly try to heal and will get bigger. If you start off with a ring there's a risk that when you lip get bigger the ring will stuck in it since the lip will have limited space to expand. It is recommended to switch to the ring a month after you started using the piercing.
Usually two weeks, it takes that time for the swelling to go down, at that point you can change to a smaller diameter ring. -Sometimes it will take longer for the swelling to go down, depending on how much you play with it, how often you clean it, what you use to clean it, and how you clean it. Also, it would be better to not change the size until all the pain goes away…
The lip piercings I've seen is closer to the bottom of the lip or up higher on the upper lip, so it shouldn't interfere with your teeth. When you see your dentist REMOVE the ring from your lip(s). Dentists need to have a clear pathway around the mouth and it would get in their way. Once the freezing is out put the lip ring back in.
no, you should wait atleast 2 weeks, and you should have been advised by the person that pierced your lip to go back to them after 2 weeks to have it Downsized.. and you can only put Lip Rings or Studs that are made of 'Surgical Steel' because you can have a very bad allergic reaction if it is something else
