When can you tell you're pregnant?

If you hiding your pregnancy and you want to keep the baby, I suggest that you should wait until you are at least 3 months along.

The general advice is to wait until 12 weeks to tell the majority of people (except your partner). This is because after twelve weeks there is less chance of miscarriage, and so it is thought to be the best time to tell people. It is also after then that you're likely to have had your first ultrasound and it's nice to have something to show people and also gives you more of an 'all-clear' that everything's OK before telling people.
