Mileage is stored in the PCM, so regardless if you change the cluster out for a new one or the sports package, it'll show the correct odometer reading
If you change the cluster out it, will change to the mileage of the new cluster.
It will change to the mileage on the new speedo.
It will the same mileage of the new cluster you installed. mileage recorded on the cluster not on the ECU I'm sure about this 100% It will the same mileage of the new cluster you installed. mileage recorded on the cluster not on the ECU I'm sure about this 100% It will the same mileage of the new cluster you installed. mileage recorded on the cluster not on the ECU I'm sure about this 100%
The mileage is stored in the BCM not the cluster, so you can replace the cluster without changing the odometer reading.
What is not working about the speedometer cluster? Wrangler speedometer clusters use LED lights and the speedometer is electronically powered, no mechanical cable. Replace cluster if reason for speedometer not working is in the cluster. Check to see if speed sensor is bad before replacing cluster. On wranglers, mileage on salvage clusters may not matter because the computer on the wrangler stores mileage and mileage normally reverts back to mileage in computer. Replacing cluster requires a two out of five level of knowledge. Short 3 to 4 inch and long Philips screw driver and patience is all that should be needed to do the job. After removing screws, be careful not to break clips on molding that help hold cluster in place. Do not attempt to replace LED lights, if this is the problem. Ebay has these clusters for around $85 plus shipping of approximately $15. Hope this answer helps.
Contact the dealer or a local speedometer shop. Changing the mileage may be a federal crime.
You can get a Federally approved form from DMV to record actual mileage and keep with vehicle and just add that mileage the accumulated mileage on the new speedometer
No, the mileage is stored in the body and engine computers. No, the mileage is stored in the body and engine computers.
No! It is not illegal if A Certified Garage will gives you the reason for the change like 'Motor changed' or if your original 'cluster' was not functional. It is illegal if you sell your vehicle under the misimpression that the vehicle had done less mileage because of the replaced head and the seller does not inform the buyer of this change. A better way to deal with this situation is to get a written and signed by the buyer statement before parting with the vehicle!!
might be your wheel speed sensor for your speedometer but with the tranny jerking just use Valvoline high Mileage tranny oil changing it did the job for me
No, changing the size of your rims and tires will not mess up your transmission. It will mess with your gas mileage and your speedometer though.
If the speedometer is not accurate, the odometer is probably not either. If you do not know how far you have driven, you can not calculate mileage with any certainty. If the speedometer is not accurate, the odometer is probably not either.
