There have been virtually countless wars between England and France. The Hundred Years War lasted through the Middle Ages. There were numerous small engagements in Tudor times. During the 1700s there was Queen Anne's War [the French and Indian War in America] and France declared war on Britain as part of their alliance with the US during our War of Independence (American Revolution). The trend continued through the Napoleonic Wars following the French Revolution. With Napoleon's final defeat in 1815, Britain gained hegemony on the seas and France had to be content with fighting Germany for control of the continent.
