Some Mayans are in Yucatan, Mexico. Most are in many parts of Guatemala, and a few in El Salvador. As being a Mayan from Guatemala, let me tell you that many of us Mayans are still here. Our culture has remained alive, thanks to our ancestors. However, as stated before, many of our people now these days do not recognize our culture. Many don't do so because they were taught to hide the culture for fear of getting discriminated as our ancestors had before. Due to this, our culture is slowly diminishing.
