They start when people believe more in many human races instead of one human race. When people see people more as races and less as people. When people make races more real than the already real they are. They start with all the above that give birth to pride, and spite.

Huh? "*black* slavery"? How about *slavery*?
To assume that slavery only happens to black people is moronic. Slavery has been a curse as long as humans existed, and *every* race has been enslaved by every imaginable group. Is it somehow better to be a slave if you're not black?
Racism is just an extension of tribalism, the concept that, "you aren't one of us". It's foolish, but it happens along every possible division in humankind, and at every scale -- individual to institutional.
And unfortunately, it's not simply something that's taught to people as children. Often, exposure to another type of person who isn't nice is enough to make people think (rather than, sheesh, that person was being a jerk) that it's because they are different from someone else.
To assume that someone is racist because of their race is about as valid as any other race-based prejudice, which is to say, "not valid at all".

∙ 9y agoRacism and discrimination are only new terms used to express the idea that "Me and mine are better than you and yours". Even in tribes of chimpanzees one group will hold its own territory against non-tribe members - killing the adults and eating the babies. Early homo sapiens is thought to have eradicated the Neanderthals in their competition for food and shelter. Many aboriginal tribes wage unending war with any invaders. Modern ethnic and racial warfare continues.We may assume that early humans carried the chimpanzee mentality with them. That would push the horizon of "racism and discrimination" back some 4 million years.
