When did the Beatles become solo artists?

Paul McCartney composed soundtrack music to The Family Way, with George Martin as arranger. A soundtrack album was issued in 1966, but McCartney did not play on it.

George Harrison released the first solo album by a Beatle, with the Wonderwall Music soundtrack in November 1968. Lennon followed a few weeks later, issuing his notorious Two Virgins album with Yoko Ono.

Lennon and Ono recorded "Give Peace A Chance" in 1969, crediting the song to the "Plastic Ono Band", and also "Cold Turkey" later that year, then "Instant Karma!" early in 1970.

Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr issued their first solo albums, McCartney and Sentimental Journey, in April 1970, but there were no singles from either. George Harrison followed in December with All Things Must Pass, and its single "My Sweet Lord".
