They never broke up. When Freddie died in 1991, Queen got together with Paul Rgers as vocalist (1995). Then John Deacon the bassist of Queen retired in 1997. Queen stopped touring with Paul in 2008 or 2009. But Brian May and Roger Taylor still play and our going to tour this summer as Queen. Rumour is they will have Adam LAmbert do the honors of singing for Freddie.

∙ 12y agoTechnically they didnt retire at all, Lead singer Freddie Mercury got aids and died in 1991 so instead of finding a new singer they called it quits. Freddie was a Legend. Rock in peace freddie. lover of life - singer of songs

∙ 11y agoThe band is still technically together...Freddie Mercury died in 1991to since then there is only 2 members left but the tour and still do the Queen classics! Even though its not the same since Mercury died of AIDS! 2011 was there 40this anniversary and the re-released every album Queen made even with Mercury's vocals!
