What year did the medieval times end in?

The end of the medieval period started when the English army of mostly longbowmen mercenaries wouldn't fight the french knights and instead barricaded themselves on a hill and shot most of them during the Hundred Years War first at the Battle of Crecy in 1346, then again at the Battle of Poitiers in 1356, and finally they shot the most at the Battle of Agincourt in 1415. Chivalry died and knights across Europe were replaced with hired armies. The knights and lords estates went away with them and the commoners who farmed the estates were moved into larger towns and cities.

The middle ages ended during the 15th century. The transition from the medieval to the Renaissance did not happen all at once and came earlier in some places than others. The earliest date I have seen is 1400, the last 1500, the most common certainly is 1453, the date of the fall of Constantinople, and the easiest for many people to remember is 1492, the date for Columbus's voyage and the fall of Grenada.

There could be many events.

Here in England some class the Battle of Bosworth 22nd August 1485 as the end of the Middle Ages.

In other countries other events such as the Capture of Constantinople or the end of the Hundred Years War both 1453 as the end.

Others as late as the start of the Reformation in 1517.

Both the Protestant Reformation and the Renaissance (the rebirth of art, science and learning) brought an end to the Middle Ages.
