1st Answer:

Middle age sports were incorporated with the daily activites. They didn't go to games like we do. Archery was a sport in the middle ages and this did two things. It gave practice and it could also be a competiton. Hunting was a sport and it gave food for the dinner table. Hawking was another sports as well as horse races and foot races. Wrestling was also a sport. Again, these things were part of the military practice or part of getting food to the table. There was no "weekends" in the mddle ages and only 8 holidays in the year.

2nd Answer:

People of the Middle Ages played sports any day but Sunday, which was set aside for worship, and Friday, which was a fast day. They especially played sports on the feast days that were locally important, such as the feast day of the patron saint of the local church. Nearly every day of the year was a feast of some saint or other.

There is a link to a question dealing with what the sports were below.

Why did the people of the middle ages play chess and not football?

The people of the Middle Ages played chess because it was a strategic game that required mental skill and thinking. Football, as we know it today, did not exist in the Middle Ages. Sports such as soccer were played during this time, but they were more informal and lacked the organized rules and structure that chess provided.

Difference in the sports they play now to the middle ages?

Medieval sports consisted of jousting, sword fighting, etc. Modern day sports is more team oriented such as, football, basketball, etc. ----- Sports of the Middle Ages included all sorts of things we would recognize today, including various forms of billiards, bowling, golf, football, and a number of others. The biggest difference was that the rules were not written down, and sometimes were virtually nonexistent. One of the forms of football, for example, was sometimes played with no limit to the number of players on either side. It was called mob football, and was often played in the middle of a town, with no apologies to passers by, who might get drafted into the home team, if they were local. Jousting was done in the Middle Ages, and was more important than the exhibitions we see occasionally today. But that sort of thing was only played by knights, and common people were left out. It was something for the historians to talk about, but quite probably most competitions involved the common folk.

How do you get to play sports in middle ages?

The formal rules on sports of the middle ages were very scarce. If you were not of the nobility, you could not joust. But if you were qualified for a sport by class and sex, there was nothing prohibiting you from just doing it. An example of a sport, and who could play, is medieval football. One form of this was called "mob football," and the sides were made of whoever wanted to play on that side, without regard to who or even how many there were. I think the only rule might have been where the goals were. There is a link below on Medieval Football.
