If you don't wish to have them shut out of the room while you sleep which I can understand as our cats will cry to go in and out of the door through most of the night I would suggest setting a place that they will be comfortable and warm and continue to move them to that spot to try and get them used to going there when they want to sleep even if it is a different part of the bed.
