Dogs should go to the vet very often. It's fine to go every six months for a regular checkup, not counting if they have diseases or injuries, but it's better to go once a month just to be safe. If there's something wrong with your dog, you should go to the vet immediately. If you're worried about prices, you can call the vet instead because you won't have to pay and see if the condition is serious.
As with any other living being, that depends on the Yorkie's age and general health. A puppy should be checked by the Vet within a few days of birth, at approximately one month, then at two months for its first vaccines, then at three months, four months, six to eight months to be spayed or neutered, and at one year. Assuming the dog is generally healthy, yearly checkups are recommended until about 7 to 10 years of age. Thereafter, checkups every six months are prudent.
I'm not completely positive, but I know it should be around every 3 months if you ask me. That's what I did with Ben, my dog.
