while they are in the old shells they will start crawling to the new,and bigger shell, and try to crawl inside while they are still in the old shell, when they are ready they will slowly crawl out of the old and smaller shell and into the new and bigger shell and push the old shell out of the way, then they will be living in the new shell
Hope this helps!!
well it all depends sometimes they don't like their home to they move to another one. Most times though it's because they are getting too small for their shell if you don't have another shell for them they can die.
you don't decide, your crab does. When the shell gets too small they change shells. Make sure to have several unpainted (they are toxic) empty shells in the cage. Make sure you have some that are a little bigger than their current one, some about that size, and some smaller ones.
When they can no longer pull themselves completely, save their largest claw, into their current shell.
Well first they do something called shopping for shells its where they look for
shells. Then climb all the way out of its shell and into another.
Your hermit crab will start getting near the new shell, then when its comfortable, it will slowly crawl out of their old shell.
Hope this helps!
they are hanging out of their shells
about every year
not often
Well, they live in shells, and when no one is there, they don't come out very often, so they are hermits. And they are related to crabs...so....hermit crabs!
because they dont look like any ordinary crab and they carry their house. crabs cant hide in their shells.crabs dont switch shells and hermit crabs are most often pets not food no offense crabs!
Yes. Some more often than others.
When ever a hermit crab grows out of its old shell it finds a new one to call home. There is no set amount of times a hermit crab will change its shells. The hermit crab will only change shells if it has grown to big for its original one. Otherwise, the hermit crab will not change shells. It all depends on the hermit crab's growth rate and size.
Hermit crabs can eat both fruits and vegtables but no meat. You can also buy hermit crab food at petstores.Make sure to change there food everyday in the morning.
not as much.
Yes, hermit crabs can be red. But more or so often they will be another more common color such as brown.
What I know of that is hermit crabs will eat snails. However, hermit crabs will often use an empty shell of a sea snail.
They like all types of shells... You must keep a few different types of the right sized shell in your tank so they can choose what they like best... Hermit crabs like to switch shells often, and many times they will switch to a shell and switch right back to their old one as a sort of "buyers remorse".... Make sure the shells you keep are a bit larger than the ones your crabs are currently in, and the new ahells shouldn't have anything inside like sharp edges... The shells are their way of protecting their sensative abdomen and if the shell has sharp spots or debris inside it could injure your crab
AnswerThe advantage is that they can hide in it. The disagvantage is they are very slow with it onspencer is also gay.
